Lego derby rules

  1. Weight limit of 5.0 oz.
  2. All cars must have a lego “driver”
  3. Racers have 2 minutes between races to modify their cars.
  4. If, during a race, a car leaves the track, the race will be restarted.
  5. If, during a race, no car reaches the finish line on the track, the car which went the farthest in its lane shall be declared as the winner of that race.
  6. A racer cannot have more than one car.
  7. No piece on a car can extend to the side past the wheels.
  8. No piece on a car can extend in front of the frame.
  9. The wheels cannot be placed so that they extend in front of or behind the frame.
  10. No wheels other than the wheels supplied with the car can be used.
  11. Wheels and Axles may be lubricated before the race, but lubrication cannot be reapplied during the race or between heats.
  12. Any extra/excessive powder on cars must be removed before the race
  13. Wheel bearings, washers and bushings are prohibited.
  14. The care must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices
  15. No moving parts can be attached to the car.
  16. No racer can touch another racer’s car.
  17. The race judge has the final say on which car reached the finish line first.
